     Ruthenium Catalyst Market

Ruthenium is a rare element found in the Earth's crust that naturally occurs in the form of platinum ores. It ranks sixth on the list of rare elements on the planet. Ruthenium is extracted from ore by separating it from platinum metals like platinum, palladium, and osmium. A series of chemical reactions occur during the separation process, resulting in the formation of these rare metals. Ruthenium is widely used in the manufacture of alloys (which is made by melting and mixing of two or more metals). Ruthenium is added to the alloy mixture, yielding an oxygen and other material resistant mixture. Along with ruthenium, the most commonly used metals for alloy mixtures are platinum and palladium. These alloys are primarily used in electrical contacts and devices for measuring extremely high and extremely low temperatures. Ruthenium alloys are also used to make a variety of medical instruments and jewellery.

The increased use of ruthenium catalyst in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries is fueling the global Ruthenium Catalyst Market. The global pharmaceutical industry is expected to reach US$ 1,430 billion by 2020, according to the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations. But since ruthenium catalyst is used in the synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients such as macrocyclic peptides, this growth in the pharmaceutical industry is driving growth in the global ruthenium catalyst market. Growing demand for chemicals is driving growth in the global market, as it is used in chemical production such as low temperature ammonia synthesis and acetic acid production.
